What do you do on Sunday? Is it any different than a Saturday? Good day to put homework off too? Does your job having you work on Sunday?
Exodus 20:8-11 Says....Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day. Six days you may labor and do all your work but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you. In six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord had blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
In other words the day is to be set aside for worship and rest. God commanded a Sabbath because humans beings need to spend unhurried time to worship and rest each week. A God who is concerned enough to provide a day each week for us to rest is pretty great! (So now you say-Tell my mom who is making me clean my room since I am not doing anything.) To observe a regular time of rest and worship in our fast-paced world demonstrates how important God is to us and it gives us the extra benefit of refreshing our spirits.
So back to the original question. What do you do on Sunday? Does it look any different than Saturday?
