First Confirmation Small Group Gathering

On Sunday, October 3 our small group had their first meeting. As the leader I was pleased to see how well they got along. Some are good friends, some are familiar faces and some are meeting for the first time. The icebreakers and informal times were more lively than the discussion, but I knew that was to be expected for our first meeting. We talked about the meaning of Confirmation and some of the hopes and fears of this process. The biggest fear is having to meet with the Bishop. There is also fear that it will be difficult to get the work done on time given how busy we all are. The hopes were very insightful... hoping that we will see Christ at work in other people, that we will find Him in our everyday activities and that we will make a better effort to get to church on Sunday. We also talked about ideas for our group service project. I head into this journey confident that we will all grow in our faith, make new friends and have fun doing it!
